Aliens Keep Out

Rikou's standing out in the middle of nowhere asking himself where an outpost is, but then Donovan appears and immediately starts to attack him, since Rikou is a Darkstalker. Rikou tries to reason with Donovan by stating that he is on the good side but Donovan says that he is a Darkstalker and because of that, he must die.

Rikou is injured by Donovan's ifrit sword attack, but he goes towards the sea and uses his power to summon up some sea snakes which keep Donovan busy whilst he escapes by swimming away. Donovan destroys the snakes, but Rikou is already gone. Donovan then says that this isn't over and then teleports out of there.

Rikou ends up back at his underwater cave in Atlantis and goes into the "pool of healing", but then trouble arrives in the form of Morrigan and Bishamon. Bishamon says that Rikou must join them; Demitri demands it.

Of course Rikou refuses but Morrigan then calls up some tentacles to tie him up. Bishamon reports back to Pyron that they have succeeded in their mission, and Pyron is pleased. Pyron decides to go down to Earth himself to meet up with them, but Ship says he shouldn't do that as it means Pyron will be weaker. This is revealed to be because Pyron's power is drawn from the spaceship itself, and if Pyron goes down to Earth he cannot be protected anymore. Pyron ignore's Ship's warnings though and is beamed down to the planet.

And as soon as this happens, the next scene shows an Aztec pyramid. The top of said pyramid opens up and everyone's favourite Darkstalkers robot appears: Huitzil! Only here he has a strange blue colouring. The robot blasts off.

Meanwhile Pyron beams down to Atlantis and is more than impressed with the amount of treasure there is, saying that the place is worthy of his presence. He then asks Rikou to join him and the others to conquer the Earth and get the humans to serve the Darkstalkers, but Rikou refuses. Pyron gets fed up with him and is about to start a fight when...

Huitzil pops up. He states his mission and then identifies Pyron as an alien who must be sacrificed to the sun god. By people, Huitzil means Aztec's, but even though Rikou says that they've been gone for over 500 years Huitzil doesn't seem to care. Pyron orders Morrigan to stop the robot.

Morrigan tries attacking Huitzil in various ways but none of her attacks are effective in anyway. Huitzil then uses his freeze beam attack to freeze Morrigan. Pyron then sends Bishamon to attack.

Bishamon does quite well at first, managing to slash through the robots torso (although bizarrely Huitzil doesn't fall apart and this damage is never seen again after this shot) but Huitzil eventually overpowers him. Pyron then tries to fight the robot but his attacks don't do any damage.

Huitzil then takes Pyron away to a place where the sacrifice can be made and the two vanish from the cave. Ship then calls down asking what's going on and Bishamon reveals that Pyron has been captured. Ship demands that they go rescue him but none of them want too. But then Ships reveals the bombshell of the episode: he's been programmed to self-destruct the ship if Pyron has been missing for 24 hours. The explosion will cause so much damage that it will, at the very least, completely destroy the Earth. Morrigan and Bishamon decide that they will have to save Pyron after all, and since Rikou doesn't want his underwater home destroyed, he agrees to help them. Ship says that he managed to track Pyron moving up the Amazon river, so the Rikou suggests that they take the "Skyfish" to get there quickly.

Meanwhile in the USA, Harry and Felicia get an unexpected call from Ship. After beaming the two up to Pyron's spaceship, Ship explains that he needs Harry to try and cut off his self destruct program in an attempt to stop the ship from blowing up should the other Darkstalkers fail in saving Pyron. Harry agrees to do this whilst Felicia is just kind of there for absolutely no reason at all.

Back at the Amazon river, the Darkstalkers track down where Pyron is thanks to Rikou talking to fish. Really. Pyron is now at the top of a temple where Huitzil is about to sacrifice him (e.g. rip his heart out) but the Darkstalkers arrive just in time and start to attack Huitzil.

Huitzil manages to grab Pyron again though and encases himself and Pyron in a bubble shield, then blasts off to get away from the Darkstalkers. The Darkstalkers give chase.

Huitzil takes Pyron to a hidden underground temple, but the Darkstalkers still manage to follow the robot and get ready to attack. However, Huitzil activates a forcefield around him and Pyron so he can make the sacrifice without being interrupted this time.

Both Morrigan and Rikou shoot projectile beams at the forcefield, Huitzil is just about to stab Pyron when Bishamon uses his sword to take a swipe at the robot. The force of the blow is so great that not only is the forcefield shattered, but so is Huitzil in a large explosion.

With Huitzil blown up into lots of pieces, Pyron has been saved. Pyron decides to return back to his spaceship and never leave there again. Meanwhile Ship sends Felicia and Harry back to Earth, but Harry says that he's made a few changes to Ship. They are then beamed down just as Pyron comes back up, who is glad to be home until he hears Ship.

Back at the temple, Morrigan is about to fight Rikou, despite saying earlier that she would leave him alone if he helped in saving Pyron. But before she can start the fight Bishamon stops her, saying that she promised earlier that she would not. In the time Morrigan wastes bickering with Bishamon, Rikou gets away in the Skyfish.

Morrigan says that this time, she just Rikou get away. Ship them beams her and Bishamon back up. A few seconds later, Huitzil's parts begin to place themselves back together and the last thing seen in this episode is one of the robot's arms pulling itself up the temple's stairs.

Whoever did the box-art for the Out of the Shadows set used part of this episode.

However, the artist for the box art also drew part of Bishamon on there (you can just make out part of his armour next to Morrigan's left wing).

This episode is generally good apart from the matter of it revealing that Pyron is weak when he his not aboard his ship. This means that he can't really go down to Earth at all. This seems kind of silly as it makes him out to be a laughable bad guy who can't do anything apart from when he's on his own ship (this is one of the few episodes where Pyron does any fighting at all, and he gets beaten easily, by a character who is never seen again).

And yes, this is the only episode which Huitzil appears in, despite that he is seen pulling himself back together at the end of it. I think that if the fabled second series of Darkstalkers was ever put into production he would have been brought back in it, as the end of this episode was definitely there for something the writers could use later on if they wanted.
