Out of the Dark

Pyron arrives at Earth in his spaceship. Inside the ship Pyron and his ship's computer talk about how there are now billions of humans on the planet but not many Darkstalkers, and that Pyron is no longer seen as a god (Pyron states that when they last visited the planet 4,000 years a go he was seen as one). Deciding to reclaim the Earth, he starts scanning the planet to try and find and remaining Darkstalkers, starting with Demitri.

Pyron's ship finds the castle where Demitri is sleeping and beams him up. As Demitri wakes up he is immediately put into pain because Earth's sunlight shines on him as he is beamed. Demitri eventually arrives on Pyron's ship and demands an explanation.

Pyron says that Demitri must server him and that he is his master. Demitri instantly starts to fight Pyron but is quickly defeated, and after being asked again he agrees to become Pyron's general. Pyron then explains that they must reclaim the Earth and make the humans serve them again. Demitri initially scoffs at this idea, saying that humans are weak and worthless, but Pyron reminds him that it is part of the order of things: humans serve Darkstalkers, Darkstalkers serve Pyron. Pyron then says that they need to find the other remaining Darkstalkers.

Next up is Morrigan, who is beamed up from having been encased in a rock pillar for centuries. As soon as she sees Demitri she recognises him and the two instantly get into a fight, but Pyron breaks them up. Pyron then makes Morrigan Demitri's second in command, but the two are extremely reluctant to get along with each other. The search for the Darkstalkers continues.

Next up is the werewolf John Talbain, who was about to kill a deer but the beam finds him. Refusing to join Pyron's gang, he manages to escape the beam and hides in a cave to avoid capture (apparently the beam can't pass through solid objects).

Pyron's ship then heads to Egypt, and the beam is used to bring up a massive pyramid right in the middle of a city. Anakaris is awakened and is beamed up to the ship, and instantly starts worshipping a TV screen. This pretty much sums up what Anakaris is like throughout the rest of this series: stupid. Morrigan states that she thinks he's been in that pyramid for a bit too long.

Next up the ship goes to Japan. A young man is about to ring a bell when suddenly the bell shatters and reveals Bishamon, who instantly awakens and says that he is still cursed. He is then beamed up to the ship.

The next scene shows a crashed plane, and one close up later shows that the plane has Raptor on it, who was in a 1970's tour. The beam soon reveals Raptor as a zombie, but he's at least alive again (kind of) and still has his guitar. He is beamed up to the ship. Pyron then states that it's now time to hunt out the difficult ones.

Next up is Victor, who has been used as a movie prop for who knows how long. The beam reactivates him, but he does not wish to join Pyron's group. Instead, he throws an empty suit of armour towards the beam which is sent to the ship instead. Victor then says that he doesn't belong here and decides to go back to his castle.

The next scene shows Rikou, the last of the mermen, pondering over the fact that he is the last of his kind and that he'll never have anyone to share his underwater palace with. Then Demitri shows up in hologram form and demands that he joins him. Rikou instantly refuses and swims off with the beam chasing him, but loses it by swimming through a sunken ship.

Next, we see the best scene of the episode at Bigfoot's village, which is full of yeti creatures. Bigfoot is standing up on a hill with his nephew, when they notice the beam. Bigfoot summons the others and they all start throwing snowballs at it, which ridiculously is enough to deactivate the beam and even send up a load of snow onto Demitri and Morrigan, who are not amused. They decide not to bother with Bigfoot.

The next Darkstalker is Felicia, who has just been kicked out of prediction of Cats (HAHA), and soon after leaving the stage she is chased by the beam. She says that she has to find "the sorcerer" and heads toward a certain house. To avoid the beam she changes into a smaller cat and then heads toward the door.

A young boy finds her and takes her inside. The next morning, he is surprised to see that the cat has turned into a cat-woman who asks him to show her to the sorcerer, Elijah Grimoire, but the boy says that Elijah was one of his ancestors and has been dead for a very long time. The boy introduces himself as Harry Grimoire, and Felicia tells him what's going on with the Darkstalkers and how Harry could be the next sorcerer. Harry is extremely sceptical at first but then Demitri appears in hologram form again. He uses the beam to try and get Felicia but ends up getting Harry, but before he can be beamed up to the ship Felicia rather unexpectedly grabs Harry and uses him as a battering ram to smash through a window. They then run off too escape.

To wrap this episode up, we see what some of the good Darkstalkers are up too. Rikou and the Bigfoot tribe meet up and agree to help each other fight Pyron when the time comes. Next, Victor is shown returning home to his castle, and greets who he believe is Igor, a servant who once worked for him. However, the man says that Igor was his great, great grand-father and that his name is actually Klaus. There's then this part of the scene where Victor meets his father, but he's rather dead.

And then finally we see what has happened to Felicia and Harry. They are back at Felicia's apartment, and she tells Harry that he's safe now and should go home, but Harry says that he wants to help her fight evil. Felicia says that basically there is no way that is going to happen, but then Harry starts floating (due to his untapped powers) and Felicia then says something (it might be a "joke") and that's the end of the first episode.

The beam that Demitri uses apparently cannot go through things (in the case of Talbain) but later in the episode, it can, when it beams through a warehouse to get at Victor and it also beams through Harry's house.

Pyron calls Demitri "the last of the vampires" but he actually isn't, at least according to Darkest Before The Dawn.

I also think that it's marvellous how Felicia uses Harry as a battering ram to destroy the window and get out of the house.
