Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

A door is suddenly flung open and in step a trio of ninjas, who kill the three people inside the room and then re-group and take what they are after - the scroll of secret techniques of the Hakkyoku-Seiken school.

Meanwhile, Andy Bogard and Terry Bogard are looking out to a ship at sea with Tung Fu Rue, but Andy sees his father, Jeff Bogard, down below and tells him to hurry up and get up to where they are. Jeff is surrounded by kids asking for spare change and he gives them some, but then another little girl walks up to him and asks if he would like to buy a flower.

As he pays her, a black car pulls up and out step four men who circle Jeff and the children and then draw out knives. Jeff tells the kids to get back but they are too scared to move, so he takes them all on regardless and three of them go down easily, but the fourth one stabs him in the back. Jeff is hurt but kicks him in the head and knocks him out.

But then another man approaches Jeff, and as the kids run away, Jeff recognises him: it is Geese Howard, his old training partner. But Geese is not his friend any more and challenges him to a fight. Jeff lunges for him but he leaps back and then releases a Repuken, a projectile wave attack which travels across the ground and sends his opponent flying back.

Geese then leaps high into the air and lands on Jeff, punching him straight in the stomach and killing him. He then gets back into the cart with the little flower selling girl and is soon gone just as Terry, Andy and Tung reach the body of their father, but it is too late for them to save him. Meanwhile Geese gets a call and learns that his men have the Hakkyoku-Seiken scroll he was after and now he is the only one to have mastered that martial art, nobody can stop him.

Later on Terry says that Tung taught Jeff the secret Hakkyoku-Seiken techniques over Geese, so Geese killed him for revenge. They can't go to the police either, because Geese has bribed them all so they are under his control. The Bogard brothers want revenge but Tung says they cannot defeat Geese yet and that they must go away to train. In 10 years time, they are to both return to this same spot and Tung will teach the most worthy one of them the secret Hakkyoku-Seiken techniques.

And 10 years later, Terry arrives back at South Town, and stands at the top of a cliff to see all of the buildings at night. He heads down and goes into the Pao Pao cafe, and starts to ask about Geese. Geese is actually upstairs bribing the police commissioner as Ripper comes in and tells him that someone down in the bar is asking about him. Geese sends Billy Kane out to take a look, and says that he is sure he has seen Terry somewhere before. Terry himself is distracted as a girl walks down the stairs and every guy in the bar is gawking at her.

Her name is Lily, and she tells everyone she has a new game to play: whoever catches the rose that she is about to throw will get to take her out for a night on the time. Billy walks up and tells her that she is drunk and to go to her room to sleep it off, but she tells him to stay out of this and then throws the rose, which Terry ends up getting. The other guys aren't that chuffed and say that they'll fight him for it, but Terry is ready to take them all on.

As Terry beats up everyone that tries to fight him, one guy gets thrown into a table which wakes up the guy sitting at it, and he isn't too pleased. Terry doesn't notice this and takes down the last man to challenge him, and as he throws the rose back to Lily, a fork hits it and pins it against the wall. The man who did this heads towards Terry and says that he was having a nice dream and now he's been woken up he's ready to fight.

The two of them square off against each other, but before they can start a couple of police men enter and tell them not to move. So one of them responds by throwing a table at them and as they are down, they run and the two of them quickly leave as Geese is watching them depart. He tells the Police commissioner to find out who those two men are.

The two of them hide from the chasing police, but avoid being caught. The other man then finally introduces himself, his name is Joe Higashi, and that Terry must be Andy's brother. Terry is surprised by this and asks how he could correctly guess who he was, and Joe says that he recognised his stance in the Pao Pao cafe as it's the same one Andy uses, and that he and Andy are friendly rivals. They then both head back to Joe's hotel room and start drinking whiskey.

Joe says that Andy is one of the world's best fighters, and has spent the last 10 years mastering the Koppoken martial art, and in training sessions he has broken some of Joe's bones, he's that strong. Terry says that tomorrow he will see his brother for the first time in 10 years, so Joe asks him if he would like to enter the upcoming "King of Fighters" tournament, and starts to tell Terry more information about it as he has no idea what it is.

Even though Andy has blonde hair in the games, he has blue hair in this. I can only assume that this is a colouring error, because in the next Fatal Fury anime, he has blonde hair.

This movie was the first thing to ever show a younger Geese Howard, and they decided to give him longer hair. SNK seemed to like this design for him, as a younger Geese appears as a hidden boss in Art of Fighting 2, who also has longer hair. Young Geese has also appeared in The King of Fighters Neowave and Fatal Fury Wild Ambition.

Terry's red jacket is missing the white star on the back that it has in the games, although this will be corrected for the next anime.
