Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf

The police commissioner gets back to Geese and tells him over a phone call that one of the men was Joe Higashi, a kick boxing champion from Thailand. Billy then walks in and was right in saying he had seen the other guy before and presents Geese with a magazine, which has a picture of Terry inside winning a martial arts tournament. Geese now knows who he is.

The next morning, Terry leaves Joe's hotel room and heads back out on the streets, and sees that Lily is also out giving some money to kids. Terry walks along and the two go into a strange ramble about Lily being trapped in a cage, but that's the way it is in South Town. Geese is also out and about and has another one of his men, Hopper, follow Terry. Lily then gets in the car and leaves, leaving Terry wondering if she was the same girl that was present at his father's death.

Terry then heads off to the spot he was told to go to 10 years a go by Tung, and as he walks along he is suddenly stopped when Andy leaps out of a tree and attacks him. The two stand off against each other and are about to go at it but Tung appears and tells them to stop fighting, and says that they have both become excellent fighters, surpassing even Jeff's skill.

Tung then takes the brothers out for a meal and tells them that the only way Geese can be defeated is if the most secret technique of the Hakkyoku-Seiken school, the Sempu ken, is used against him. But he will only teach one of them this move and it will be whoever is the best fighter, not just the strongest, as Geese was stronger than Jeff but Tung still chose Jeff over him. Andy wants to fight Terry right now, but Terry tells him to enter the king of fighters tournament and they can settle it there.

Hooper and Ripper report back to Geese and asks about who Terry and Andy are. Billy fills in for that one by saying that Jeff did not actually have sons, but he looked after two orphaned kids and raised them up himself. The two goons then go on and say that Tung intends to teach one of the brothers some ancient secret technique that even Geese doesn't know about, so Geese orders his men to kill them both. And Joe too.

The king of fighters tournament then gets under way and as Geese and his men watch the giant wrestler Raiden beat up boxer Michael Max, Hopper brings up the current rankings and Billy is at the top. But soon they see that these new fighters are doing well, with Joe defeating Duck King with his tiger kick move and Andy knocking out Muay Tai champion Hwa Jai within three seconds.

Terry's match first match is coming soon, but he isn't doing any last minute preparation, he's actually sleeping. Lily then enters his room with a bottle of wine and says that it's a little celebration for his first victory as she is sure that he'll win, but it's clear from her eyes that something isn't right and before he can take a sip from his glass, she knocks it out of his hand. Turns out it was poisoned wine meant to kill him so he couldn't compete! And this leads to her apologising and then the two having a kiss.

Some guy then knocks on the door and tells Terry to come to the ring as his match is about to start, and as he leaves he tells Lily that he will free Lily from her cage. Seeing that she has failed in her secret mission, Geese tells his men that Tung Fu Rue must be somewhere in the stadium and they mist go and find him as well as kill the trio of new fighters, but with so many people watching the fights they don't have much luck.

Tung is actually hiding out in part of a crowd thanks to his disguise and the help of some woman who snuck him in there. A scoreboard then displays who is going to battle next as Terry is up against the Capoeira master Richard Meyer as his first fight in the tournament is about to begin!

Geese does have two generic henchmen in the first Fatal Fury game - they appear in a cutscene just before you fight Geese. But in this anime, there are two new guys called Ripper and Hopper, who SNK must have liked more since they appear in both of the next two Fatal Fury animes and also make cameo appearances in some of the Real Bout games.

Some sites have listed the girl who helps Tung into the stadium as Mai Shiranui, who wasn't in the first Fatal Fury game but was in the second. This could have been possible since this anime was made in 1992, which is the same year as when Fatal Fury 2 came out, but I honestly don't think that it's meant to be her.
