Approach of the Demon Meteorite

The Aerialbots have been doing a routine patrol of the Earth in a ship and report to Ultra Magnus that they are retuning home to Autobot city, but suddenly see a large meteorite which appears to be heading straight for them. They evade it but as it passes by them it blasts them with some kind of projectile which twists them and their ship until they are out of range. Ultra Magnus sees this and has the Technobots send out to help them whilst contact Autobot HQ on Athenia.

On Charr it's revealed that the meteorite is something that the Decepticons have created, and Galvatron states that it is set on a collision course with the Autobot HQ on Athenia. Once it hits, the HQ will be completely destroyed and the Autobots can do nothing about it. Weirdwolf sees that the Technobots have been sent on a rescue mission so Galvatron sends a Decepticon squad led by Cyclonus to stop them.

Having received the message from Ultra Magnus, Rodimus sends Fortress to stop the meteorite. He takes his ship and follows the meteorite, and tries to destroy it by firing the ship's laser cannons, but the blasts have no effect on the target at all. Highbrow reveals that the lasers are been warped around the meteorite and it can somehow divert them. The Autobots find out that the meteorite is heading straight for their Athenia base and Rodimus calls Fortress back so they can think up another way of stopping it.

Galvatron and the Decepticon Headmasters arrive on Earth and meet up with Scourge and the Sweeps. Scourge starts to explain that Cyclonus has successfully stopped the Technobot rescue mission, but then the Throttlebots arrive and start firing upon Galvatron. The Decepticon Headmasters fight back and seemingly beat them all whilst Galvatron takes Scourge and the Sweeps to meet up with Cyclonus.

When the Decepticon reinforcements arrive, Galvatron explains to the Technobots about the meteorite before continuing the fight, although Fortress and the other Autobot Headmasters show up. Weirdwolf and the rest of his team also appear telling Galvatron that they've thrashed the Technobots and the fighting starts again between the two sides.

What either side don't know is that the Throttlebots lost on purpose so they could secretly fly a ship out to the meteorite and destroy it themselves, with fame being the only reason they're going. Of course, as things always seem to be with the Throttlebots, they fail miserably even after being warned not to get near to it and all get twisted up when they get close to the meteorite.

Rodimus watches this from Athenia and the Autobots there come to the conclusion that a Transformer simply cannot get close to this meteorite, and that the meteorite itself must not be of natural origin. Since no Transformer can get close, Daniel suggests sending Captain Marissa from the Earth Defense Force, but Wheelie says that they are too busy at the moment and instead suggests that Daniel could go instead, but Rodimus says they can't just send a child. But the other problem is...

...Spike is injured at the moment. Daniel goes and tells him about how the Throttlebots have just failed to stop the meteorite and Spike says that he must go and stop it, even though he is injured. Spike and Carly try to stop him from going but he says that he must and goes into the main room where he tells Rodimus and the others of his plans. Rodimus says that he can't go in his present condition, but then Daniel appears...

..and says that he'll go instead. The Autobots ask if he means it and Daniel says he has to go this time. Spike lets him as he really is not fit enough to move around much, never mind fly through space. This is decided just in time as the meteorite is getting dangerously close to Athenia.

On Earth the fight between the Autobots and Decepticons continues until Rodimus orders Fortress to return to Athenia. The Autobot Headmasters go back onboard the ship and despite the efforts of Galvatron and his cronies they get away, leaving Computron behind to buy them some more time.

On Athenia again Daniel is suited up in an old space suit. Spike explains that he can't wear the traditional exo-suit as if he did he would end up mangled if he got close to the meteorite, so this is all they can give him instead. Spike goes on to tell Daniel what he must do: Fortress will take him across as close as he can and then Daniel must jump from the ship and land on the meteorite itself, and from there he must destroy whatever it is which keeps the meteorite from being hit by lasers. Fortress then lands on Athenia for a short time whilst Daniel and Wheelie go aboard.

Fortress blasts off and is soon within close range of the meteorite, but then they notice four Decepticons approaching. Determined to not let the Autobots destroy the meteorite, Galvatron has flown from Earth to stop Fortress. Chromedome and the other Headmasters leave the ship to fight the Decepticons whilst Fortress keeps on going to get closer.

But things take a turn for the worse: Daniel suddenly decides that he's too scared and too much of a coward to go! And what does Fortress do? Pull a series of funny faces to make Daniel shut up, and he eventually does. Fortress says that he'll have to go instead of Daniel, knowing full well he'll get twisted up, but then Daniel says he'll be a man and go and do it.

With the meteorite in range of the ship, Daniel is pushed out of the airlock by Wheelie and he successfully lands on target. Fortress keeps in radio contact and tells him that the sensors he needs to destroy and inside the meteorite. As Daniel explores on the surface a gun turret pops up and blasts him with the twisting spray but of course, it doesn't effect him. As the turret retreats Daniel jumps down and ends up inside the meteorite.

Inside the meteorite Daniel wanders around and finds what he's looking for. He turns the sensors off and then plants an explosive device. He then gets out and jumps off the meteorite, which plummets of course trailing smoke before being destroyed in a large explosion which Daniel watches.

The Autobot Headmasters see the explosion and realise that Daniel has got the job done. With his plan in ruins, Galvatron orders the Decepticons to retreat, leaving the Autobots to return home to Athenia and celebrate Daniel's success.

And the big question here is: Why don't any of the Autobots ask Carly to go?

By the way, for those not in the know, Marissa Faireborn was a character from the third season who showed up in a couple of episodes to help the Autobots. She is only mentioned by name in this episode, but she never actually appears in this series at all.
