The Miracle Warriors - The Targetmasters: Part 1
| |
Since Scorponok's defeat in the previous episode, it seems that all Decepticons have left the Earth and it's been weeks, possibly months, since the Autobots have had to fight them. This has given the Autobots plenty of time to make sure that Fortress' ship is in top condition with Brainstorm and Hardhead repairing some damaged consoles on the ship's exterior. Inside Chromedome is getting restless, having not fought the Decepticons for a while, but Fortress tells him that he has a job for him and the other Headmasters.
However it's not the exciting Decepticon-busting mission Chromedome wants, but instead it's to go to an area in the world to find out something. It's been reported that recently several Decepticons snuck back onto Earth and planted bombs in the Earth's mantle, and that they are time based explosives. Chromedome and Hardhead head to one area whilst Brainstorm and Highbrow go to another. As the Autobots explore these areas their scanners detect that there are indeed explosives located nearby and so they look around to find them.

Fortress contacts the Autobots on Athenia and tells Spike that he wants him to lead a team to Earth and destroy the now empty Decepticon base there. Accepting this mission, Spike says he'll head to Earth immediately and the other Autobots agree to help him, and Wheelie says that he'll contact some of his "friends" to come to Earth and help out too. Fortress then contacts Chromedome,
who reports that bombs have been planted as they feared, although it looks like
they can remove them okay.
Chromedome and Hardhead start to remove the bombs, but suddenly the magma around them rises and Chromedome ends up accidentally activating one of the explosives as the magma continues to rise. They both swap heads to improve their strength and then decide that they'll just have to hope the bomb doesn't go off and jump up to escape the magma.

Spike, Daniel, Arcee and Wheelie all arrive on Earth and head to the UN HQ, as Spike is attending a meeting there. Arcee goes in with him, but Spike tells Daniel and Wheelie to wait outside until the meeting is over and not get into trouble in the meantime. Daniel then starts to argue with Wheelie over the matter of if he really has any friends, but then
three robots fly down towards them.
Who are they? It's Sureshot, Pointblank and Crosshairs.
Daniel thinks that these new Autobots are really cool and praises Wheelie on knowing them. Pointblank asks exactly what this whole "friends" business is about but seems to see the funny side of it and then asks to see the Autobot leader. Daniel says he'll show the way to Fortress, whilst Pointblank then asks if Wheelie told Daniel that they were friends, when really they're his superiors, although Pointblank doesn't seem to mind.
Fortress meets the new Autobots, and says that he has heard great things about them.
Pointblank says that they have traveled to the Earth to fight the Decepticons, only to be told that they have all been driven off the planet. However, Pointblank says that the Autobots should remain alert and make more of an effort to look out for an enemy attack. Later on Fortress's ship blasts off.
Meanwhile Chromedome and Hardhead are running towards the exit but when a load of rocks fall down they are blocked off. And with them holding a ticking time bomb they know that they'll perish if they don't find a way out of there fast, and start to try and remove the debris in front of them with little success.
Thankfully the two are saved when Fortress pilots his ship to their position and digs a hole above them that they can fly out. There they meet up with Highbrow and Brainstorm, who have diffused their bombs earlier on, and tell them that one of the bombs is ticking. Fortress says they'll destroy it in space and they all get onboard.
In space the Autobots rush towards something they call the safety zone, which I presume means that if the bomb explodes there it won't threaten the Earth. The bomb is very powerful and would most likely have completely destroyed the Earth as it was linked to several smaller explosives, much like what the Decepticons did to destroy Mars. Pointblank then asks to go ahead with his
two friends but Fortress says it's too dangerous and they are nearly at the safety zone anyway.
Just as the Autobots are going to drop off the bomb, Chromedome notices that a spaceship is nearby and is would be destroyed in the explosion given it's size, so the bomb can't be dropped yet. The ship is bought up on screen and then it's 6 robot crew is shown, but they talk in a different language to the Autobots, who can't understand them.
Twincast is here to save the day as he can interpret what it is they are saying. He translates and tells Fortress that these robots are from planet Master and are in need of assistance. Suddenly their ship is under attack by some Decepticons that Fortress and most of the others haven't seen before, but Pointblank, Sureshot and Crosshairs know who they are.
It's Misfire, Triggerhappy and Slugslinger.
The new characters all transform and start to fight, which gives the spaceship enough time to land inside Fortress' ship. It's occupants run out and tell Fortress through Twincast's translations that they escaped from Master when a giant robot attacked them. Fortress know full well that they must mean Scorponok and that the Decepticons must have invaded Master.
Chromedome leads the other Autobot Headmasters onto the exterior of the ship when they see Sixshot, and Fortress appears as well to says that he'll never let the Decepticons rule Master. However before he can fight Twincast calls him back inside and tells him some slightly disturbing news: apparently these little robots understand their language and current situation, and are going to take the bomb and get rid of it for the Autobots. Fortress doesn't want them to do that but with time running out he lets them take off.
Pointblank deals with Sixshot and knocks him down with a flying kick, and notices that the spaceship has just taken off again. He sees that Slugslinger, Misfire and Triggerhappy are all flying towards it so he, Sureshot and Crosshairs intercept them...
...but then the bomb goes off and a large explosion takes place, releasing a whole lot of plasma energy. What is the fate of these Transformers?
First appearance of Pointblank, Sureshot, Crosshairs, Slugslinger, Triggerhappy and Misfire.
The very first shot of the episode shows us some classic characters, including Ironhide. Ironhide was another Autobot to get killed off in the movie, but I guess that's what you deserve when you're a toy
with no head.
Skyfire can also be seen in the opening shot, he hasn't been seen since the second season of Transformers.
