Terror of the Six Shadows

The trainbots are taking Daniel and Wheelie on a tour of their birthplace -Japan. They start watching a rock band play on a giant TV screen, but suddenly the image changes to the shadow of something. The figure starts to speak and tells the people of Japan to surrender all of it's energy reserves or they will be destroyed. The Trainbots go back to Autobot City and tell Ultra Magnus about the message, who has it replayed on a viewscreen. Ultra Magnus wonders if it's a new enemy which isn't a Decepticon and has Scattershot send a report to Athenia. On Athenia the Autobot Headmasters leave for Earth via Broadside.

On Charr the Decepticons examine the message, and Cyclonus says they can't let this new enemy take the Earth's energy away from the Decepticon army. Cyclonus suggests that he and Scourge take the Decepticon Headmasters to Earth and destroy this new enemy, which Galvatron lets them do. However as they leave Galvatron reveals that he knows who the figure in the message is and calls Cyclonus and Scourge fools.

On Earth the Autobots eventually find out that other countries have been threatened by a mysterious shadow. However, the shadows are different for each country with a total of
six different shadows appearing in different forms. Rodimus says to send messages to the governments of each country to tell them to keep prolonging negotiations whilst they try to figure what's going on. Meanwhile the Trainbots explain to Daniel that they have the situation under control as they are
six different units as well...

...but then they see Ratbat and shoot at him. Ratbat transforms and tries to grab Daniel but Wheelie saves him, then the Trainbots start to shoot. Ratbat manages to escape by flying through a open window though.

Ratbat returns to Soundblaster, who then leaves and heads to Trypticon. Cyclonus and Scourge asks Sixshot to join them in destroying whoever this new enemy is, but he says he must stay behind and guard Trypticon. As they leave Sixshot starts to laugh to himself. The next day there is a attack in London so some Autobots go to check it out, as do Cyclonus and Scourge. The Autobots arrive first and find nothing but destruction and no sign of the enemy.

At Autobot City a new report comes in showing that the enemy is now attacking a city in the United States. Once again Metroplex and the Autobot Headmasters are sent out to the location, only to find that the enemy has once again gotten away. They do find Cyclonus and Scourge however, but the two Decepticons take off before they can get any info out of them, leaving the Autobots wondering what they were doing there.

Returning back to Autobot City, the Autobots study the attacked countries and guess that the next place that will be attacked may be Japan as it has an excellent energy production program. The Trainbots walk in and Daniel says that they have been shopping and touring around Japan. The Headmasters, showing their first signs of being snobby jerks in the series, criticise the Trainbots saying that there are far more important things going on for them to be messing around shopping. The Trainbots do not take kindly to this and Daniel says that he asked the Trainbots to take him and Wheelie out, but Chromedome then rather hilariously tells Daniel to be quite. But Daniel storms off and throws almost all the stuff he bought on the floor.
Daniel goes into a room alone and starts spinning a toy shuriken around when the Headmasters show up. Chromedome
brings back all the stuff Daniel bought and apologises for earlier, but Daniel
says that it's okay. Chromedome then takes interest in the toy shuriken Daniel has and asks what it is. Daniel explains about how it was a weapon that ninjas used to attack with, then explains what a ninja is.
Chromedome is reminded of something that happened on Master a long time a go and tells a story. He and the others were working on producing energon with the others when one day a strange robot appeared which demanded all of their energon to be handed over to him. A small guard force tried to attack him but failed when the robot split up like a ninja with multiple shadows of the same guy. The robot then destroyed the guard force, which included the death of Chromedome's friend Abel.

Just then the enemy attacks Japan as the Autobots thought. Well you've probably worked it out by now but anyway: the enemy is Sixshot. But since none of the Autobots present have seen Sixshot before, they don't know who he is. The Autobot Headmasters say they'll go to Japan but the Trainbots say that they want to defend their homeland and Rodimus lets them, meaning the Headmasters have to stay behind. Cyclonus and Scourge learn about the Trainbots leaving Autobot City and decide to intercept them by using Trypticon.
Sixshot is still busy destroying buildings and the like until the Trainbots arrive and transform into Raiden. But before Raiden can do any serious damage Trypticon touches down and makes Raiden retreat as Sixshot keeps shooting. This is all seen by the Autobots at Autobot City, and Chromedome takes the other Headmasters to Japan and start to join in the battle.
With Trypticon taking shots from all sides Cyclonus and Scourge jump out and transform, but aren't a match for the Autobots. Sixshot transformers into his space fighter mode and the battle takes to the skies but with the Decepticons outnumbered they end up getting hit.
Sixshot then uses a ninja technique to divide himself making it appear that there are five of him. He transforms into his space cannon mode and attacks Raiden but Scourge crashes into him due to being chased by Highbrow. With Sixshot distracted Chromedome and Hardhead open fire and hits Sixshot, who ends up crashing down back to Earth.
Sixshot isn't going to go out without fighting though and once again splits up to attack. After knocking the Autobot Headmasters back he makes the huge mistake of attack Raiden in his wolf mode, leaving the other Autobots free to just stand there shooting at him. Eventually they hit the real Sixshot who finally realises to call it a day, although not before kicking and punching Cyclonus and Scourge for their earlier incompetence.
The pain isn't over for Cyclonus and Scourge though as as soon as they get back to Decepticon HQ Galvatron beats them both up. Galvatron says that he knew that it was Sixshot all along and that the two of them have ruined his plans. Cyclonus says why didn't Galvatron just tell them this in the first place but Galvatron says that he shouldn't criticise his strategy and also shouts at him for getting Trypticon damaged, before starting to stomp on him a lot.

At Autobot City the Trainbots and Headmasters are chums again and then it's time for both teams to go back to Athenia, taking Daniel with them. And the final shot has a suspiciously stubby and short train heading back to Athenia.
Now you'd think Ultra Magnus - the guy that fought Sixshot in the first episode... would recognise who the shadow was straight away. It makes sense for the other Autobots in this episode to wonder who he is as they've never seen him before. When we first see the shadow it has a much higher pitched tinny voice instead of Sixshot's usual voice however.
This episode is also the first time we see Sixshot transform into his other forms too.
Early on in the episode there's an exterior shot of Autobot city and you can see part of the Autobot's ship (I think it's called the Ark) to the left, specifically one of it's engines, despite the fact that the ship was destroyed by Trypticon in season 3.
