Infiltration... The Uranium Mine
| |
The Thunder Arrow is now in a jungle and inside Deszaras has called together all of his minions to tell them about their latest mission. He as found out about an uranium mine which they are to raid, and to take the vast amount of uranium that they can convert into energon. Leozack is put in charge of this mission.
One of the mine's workers, Frank, says goodbye to his son, Sam and his wife as he heads towards his place of work. It's Sam's birthday today and Frank promises his son that he'll try to get home early today and bring him back a nice big present. Frank gets to work but suddenly, another worker bursts into the room to tell him that the Decepticons are attacking!
Leozack orders the Dinoforce to go and start taking the uranium from the storehouses and this is seen by Frank, who sends out a distress signal to the Autobots. The Autobots
pick it up and find out that whilst the majority of workers managed to escape,
around one hundred of them have been captured by the Decepticons and are still in the mine.
The situation isn't good - with the Decepticons holding so many people hostage, the Autobots cannot engage their enemies in a full scale assault. All they know is that the workers are being held in the northern part of the mine and that they can get there via an abandoned section, and they can cut through it using a sonic drill. Laster, Braver and Wingwaver are sent out to sneak in and when they free the hostages, the other Autobots will move in to assist.
The Autobots arrive outside a mountain which leads to the abandoned section, and they blow a hole though the side of it with a sonic drill. As they enter into the mine, the worker hostages are beginning to have difficulties breathing as the air ventilation system was destroyed by the Decepticons.
The Autobots make it to the abandoned part of the mine as Leozack notices that all of the humans are begging him to let them out back up to the surface as they can barely breathe. He refuses of course, and tells Drillhorn to keep an eye on them. Meanwhile the Autobots continue to make progress and are picked up on radar by Frank.
However the Autobots reach an area where the drill won't work, even when all three of them try putting their energy into it. They've reached some solid bedrock and can't break through. Frank sees that they're stuck and decides to go down there with some high powered explosives so they can blast it out of the way. He is soon down in the mine where he sees and uses a mine cart to get to the Autobots faster.
Unfortunately, Leozack is wandering around the mine and sees the cart, and wonders why an unmanned cart is moving around the mine for no reason. He goes to have a closer look and is rewarded by Frank smashing him between the eyes with a mallet, since miners always have those. Leozack goes crazy trying to shoot the cart of the track but he misses and Frank gets away.

Star Saber, Dashtacker, Machtackle and Blacker are all waiting outside and hear gunshot noises coming from the mine, but Star Saber tells them not to move in yet as they need to give them more time and put faith in them. Meanwhile Frank meets up with the Autobots and tells them who he is and that they need to hurry up before all of the hostages die. He then heads off to plant explosives around the other side of the bedrock that the Autobots can't reach, whilst they are to drill at the same time the bombs go off.
A few minutes later the explosives go off and the Autobots use their sonic drill at the same time, which creates enough power to break through the bedrock. The workers are all saved as fresh air gets to them, and the Autobots press on to find Drillhorn guarding the place by himself. And since it's three vs. one he falls pretty quickly.
As Braver and Laster fight against Killbison and Jaruga, Wingwaver stays behind and leads everyone out of the exit. Outside, he calls for Galaxy Shuttle to be sent to pick up all of the workers, and as it arrives Star Saber checks on things and is told by Frank that there are still some Decepticon on the surface who are stealing the uranium. Star Saber and Blacker head up to sort them out.
Up above, the Dinoforce have gotten together all of the uranium and now are waiting for the Thunder Arrow to arrive so they can load it onto that. But Leozack arrives and tells them to be ready for the Autobots who are on the way up. They arrive and the Decepticons manage to overpower Blacker, but soon Star Saber shows up on the V-Star and shoots at them.
Leozack gets hit as the Dinoforce merge into Dinoking. Star Saber says that it is unforgivable for the Decepticons to put so many innocent lives in danger just for their own greed and attacks the Decepticon gestalt.
Star Saber uses something he calls his "final attack" and rises his sword up into the air, where lots of electric bolts shoot out of it and straight through Dinoking, which breaks him apart back to the individual members of the Dinoforce. The Decepticons do a runner as Star Saber and the Autobots are once again victorious.
Later on all of the miners thank the Autobots, who then return back to their base by getting a ride on Galaxy Shuttle. Inside Star Saber says that it was the bravery of the miners that helped them to win this battle, and that they will go on to fight the Decepticons to save the Earth.
Jan and the Rescue team are all there when the Autobots learn that the mine is being attacked, but they don't appear in the episode again. It's odd because the Rescue team are even shown running towards Star Saber to learn what's up, but they aren't given a mission. Which is very strange because given that there are trapped people that need to be rescued, you'd think these guys would come in handy.
